A kitchen in the limelight and with it approx. 4,000 high-quality SOAP tiles in black, which were used in the latest Gaggenau installation at the Fuorisalone 2022 in Milan.
It is a genuine wow moment when we enter the “show stage” of the Fuorisalone at the Milan Design Week. For this year’s fair, Gaggenau has deliberately taken a step away from all the bustle to one of the most beautiful and tradition-steeped places in Milan: the Villa Necchi, to be precise. Here you can positively taste the innovation, dynamism and inspiration. The Milan avantgarde meets the entrepreneurial spirit of countless generations and well-known figures who have already been in and out of this house. Exactly the right place for Gaggenau to present the new show kitchen as the centerpiece of the fair program.
And there it stands. Right in the middle of the modern, light-filled pavilion. Even though we were there during its development, it is still an absolute experience. You can almost feel how the designer’s vision, the materiality of the various raw constituents used, the architecture and the craftsmanship have coalesced with each other. A statement of a kitchen that reflects precisely the ethos for which Gaggenau stands.

”“This year we wanted to give people an insight into the soul of Gaggenau,” explains Chief Designer Sven Baacke. “We describe our design ethos as traditional avantgarde. This love of innovation is expressed by this year’s exhibition under the title 'A Statement of Form.”
Of course, we were very excited to see our ceramic on this unique piece and in the intoxicating ambience of the villa. All in black, shiny. Almost stoic and lofty. A kitchen that is perfect for our faces SOAP wall ceramics, which, with its characteristic shape and roundness, fits harmoniously into the overall picture. Incidentally, the kitchen is mode exclusively of durable and unadulterated materials, such as glass, stainless steel, marble, wood and ceramics. A harmony of rarely experienced natural perfection that we experience produced by hand by distinguished experts such as e.g. the marble specialist Gabriele Salvatori.
In total, almost 4,000 SOAP tiles were used in this installation, which presents a new and fascinating play of light at each time of day. The kitchen will be dismantled immediately after the fair and faithfully reassembled again in the Gaggenau Showroom. We are happy to have contributed a small, enduring building block in the success of this pioneering project with our ceramics.
